Silver Reunion

Silver Reunion

A comment from Chairperson

Hello Committee,

First and most important I want to say many thanks for the beautiful quilt blanket!! I will always treasure that. Actually you don't have to do that. I really enjoyed work with each of you!   Since I got the blanket, I'm glad to have it! Thanks once again!!!

I want to say thanks to individual of you, I didn't get a chance to do at the reunion. I wanted the member to see how hard work you each did for our class 87. I guess I have some stage fright and couldn't think right. So I’m doing this now and will be posted on website (only if it is ok with you)  Also, you might think that I was too busy and not noticed what you all did at the reunion, actually I did pay attention to every details and know what you guys were doing ha...

Martha - Reddi, for your outstanding on pre-bash party, got some of members together and worked that night and earned us some mola! You did great because every member had so much fun that night. (psst, I don't think class 88 had their fun at our pre-bash party lol, or did they?) Thank you!

Mark Walter, I do really appreciate your hard work on collect members update info. I know it was a big mess at the beginning. You were able to clean it up and straight it out, collect a lot more member's info. I’m aware that first a few months, you spend a lot of time working on our class. Thank you!

Lynda Schott, you were the first person to reply and got involved with committee, to give me some motivation. Also, worked on give out jackets on Thursday afternoon. Thank you!

Jay Scotton, to be honest- I’m very fortunate (not only me, class 87 too) to have you as our webmaster! As we all can see, our website is awesome. I can understand that work on that thing isn't easy and you make it looks so easy...not only that but you did extra work for others with download pictures, set up power point, print registration tag, pick or drop off packages...did quite a lot more than just your position. Do appreciate that .... thank you!!

Becky Poston, I know we didn't hit off at the beginning and I get to know you better, enjoy our new friendship. Doing the registration is tough part of the committee, had to set up the registration forms, send out to members, received forms, had to contact individual members for specific forms or money which they didn't follow, had to deal with some of members who want refund, make list for banquet, jackets and others, then work on weekend to give out tags and also have to carry the remain who arrive after registration hours...and yet you continue to have a big smile .... thank you!!

Danny Frank, I know that I have been on your back, didn't give you a chance that I have some confidence in you. I knew and I can see you will be able to do yourjob, but at same time I was worried. You did real greatjob on your part and everyone had their heartbreaking at that moment. Thank you!

Charles Grauze, my laid back guy! Yeah you had me worried a few times (I often tell myself, l’m like you too in a way) so I have so much confidence in you and knew you will be fine. During the luncheon, I enjoyed myself so much, forgot that there are others around me...you did more than outstanding job!! again I know that doing that isn't easy beside pick out food and not have to worry about decoration part (ha) but collect pictures and data aren’t easy then put them all together .... Thank you!!

Kary Hattaway, having you as banquet chairperson was right choice. Your ideas and plans were awesome, everyone had a blast time. Not only banquet, you did a lot on decoration part for Chas, l'm pretty sure that he’s thankful to have you to back him up. You were able to make our class look so beautiful and good times!! Thank you!!

Lisa Grauze, during 9 months, your job seems very easy but when the weekend came, you did awesome by help everyone and make sure things go smooth, always be there for everyone who needs help. I know and can see that it was tiresome for you from time to time but you did your job anyhow. Thank you.

John Fine, I can say that you are my true friend (rival hockey friend too). ln the beginning when I volunteered to be chairperson, l asked you first thing if he would be a webmaster and he agreed. From that point, I wasn’t worried and when time comes closer, you decided to back out. I understood but at same time I was upset, thought I could count on you. At our first meeting, I was impressed that you came. And from there, you have involved more responsibilities and over the weekend, involved with everyone and helped as much as you could. I truly appreciate and I can see that you are really my true friend! Thank you!!

Jim Cason and Terri Levine, your frustrating and stress and hard work have paid off!! Everyone enjoyed the memory book. It came out the best!! The memory book is our most precious thing. Thank you!!

Laureen Ryan, your effort to gather info on gifts, and collect information of D.C are much appreciated. No one really wants to take over that kind of position and your willingness to cover that means a lot to me. Not only that but you're constantly work over the weekend, especially to straight out and took the responsibility with jackets, etc. Thank you!!

Beth Hortie, I understood during those months were difficult for you but yet you made the effort to be there for us all in any way you could. Helped with pass out jackets and decorations and helped with Kary were much appreciated. Thank you.

Teri Scotton, being treasurer isn't easy job and your duties continues after reunion, constantly worry about "do we have enough money", make sure we are not overspent, is well paid off. You are outstanding treasurer who is able to have a lot of profits and Gallaudet loves you!! We, 87ers are very fortunately to have someone like you who’s willing to pay with your own money to order jackets and others upfront and do great job on that position. Not only being treasurer, you have also have been a great friend, with your reinforcement and help on other issues beside money is also appreciated. Thank you! ll

Chris Brawner and Laureen Obermiller, the two most important people who constantly support and stand beside me during frustrating time. Their sweet and patience personalities help too, l have called them several times, disrupt their home lives and they always find time to chat with me. Chris have always keep on track with chairpersons, to make sure they all do theirjobs, very details and he did awesome, see what's the result of weekend!! Laureen did great with our class slab; get Gallaudet to cover the expenses. They have been there and are sure that everything during the reunion weekend went smooth, solved some problems, hardly tap my shoulder. Thank you!!!

Sometimes I felt that l was worth less during the reunion weekend then I realized, it is because I have the best committee!! I have enjoyed to get know you more or better, grow or new friendship which I will always precious that, once again thank you all! ll Love Debby - Coki Last thing, I also very much appreciated for those members beside chairpersons or committee who are willing to participated and help during the reunion were:

Estella Bustmante - Kovcas
Leslie Firi
